Amber Fort the pride of Kachhawa Rajputs

Itinerary

•    The fort of Amber is located in Amber which is about 11 kms from the north-east of Jaipur city.

•    Amber Fort once acted as the capital of Kachhawa Rajputs. The city of Jaipur was not built that time.

•    The name Amber was given to the fort based on the name of Amba Mata. She is the goddess of earth and Fertility

•    Amber palace inside the fort is considered as the most romantic Palaces of the Rajputs

•    The reflection of the fort on the Maota Lake gives the look of fairy tale castle

•    An elephant ride to reach the AMBER FORT gives a royal feeling to the tourists to this place

•    Sheesh Mahal located in the fort is considered as one of the most beautiful mahal inside this fort

•    Magic flower carving on the marble offers 7 unique designs. These designs are of fish tail, lotus, hooded cobra, elephant trunk, lion’s tail, cob of corn and also a scorpion

•    The entrance gate of this fort consists of two-storey Ganesh Pol. The pole is well decorated with excellent paintings as well as delicate jali screens.

•    Ganesh Pol was built by Sawai Jai Singh II

•    There is one tunnel of 2 km length which connects the Amber fort with the very famous Jaigarh fort of Jaipur. A small part of the tunnel is kept open for the visitors

•    The construction of the fort was started by Raja Man Singh in 17th century and was later completed by Raja Jai Singh I and Sawai Jai Singh II.

•    Amber fort is a perfect combination of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles.

•    Maharaja Man Singh constructed the Sila Devi temple inside this fort. This temple is dedicated to goddess Kali.

•    Char Bagh garden inside this fort was built by Mirza Raja Jai Singh
