It was in the year 1799 A.D the Hawa Mahal was constructed. Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, the then Maharaja of Jaipur took initiative for the construction of the monument and it is one of the most visited destinations in the Pink City.
Hawa Mahal – Stands for wind palace. This Mahal is having close to 953 windows through which cool breezy air flows even today. This Palace was utilized by the members of the Royal families for spending the summers in a retreating manner
The overall shape of the Hawa Mahal is just like a bee hive. The jails which are created on the windows give the true impression of beehives and Honeycomb
Lal Chand Usta was the man behind the designing of the palace. The palace was designed keeping in mind the expectations of the females of the royal families in Jaipur.
